The Rays Will Again Be Competing In The Tarheel Swimming Association (TSA) for 2023!
We are excited to announce that, in conjunction with The Fred Smith Company Sports Club, and for the purpose of giving our interested students and members of FSC Athletic clubs an opportunity to take an initial step into competitive swimming, HLSA will be running the Riverwood Rays Summer swim team again for the 2023 season.
Important Registration Updates…
- You must be a member of the Fred Smith Athletic clubs in order to swim on the swim team. Per the Tar Heel Swim Association(TSA) rules EVERY swimmer must belong to the club they are swimming for by the first day of practice–SO—–you MUST be a member of Riverwood Athletic Club (FSC Sports Club) to participate for the Riverwood Rays this summer.If you are interested in joining, please see Charles Walker at the Riverwood Athletic Club front desk for membership information or ask me and I can point you in the right direction. This is not my or our rule–it is a league rule.
- You must sign up for the team through the swimtopia website here. The base price per child is $118. Discount for multiple children in a family is $113 for child #2, $108 for #3, etc. This fee pays for the coaching, 6 dual meets, all practices and our end of year celebration. It does not pay for suits, goggles or caps.
The swim team season will last approximately eight weeks from May 22nd to July 21st. The swim meets will be held on Tuesday nights starting June 13th. Meets will start at 6pm and all home meets will be at the Riverwood Athletic Center. Team members will show up to the pool approximately 1 hour prior to the start of the meet for warmups and meet setup. Meets last about 3 hours. Specific meet schedule information can be found here.
