Cole Yarborough is the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of H&L Swim Academy.

H&L Swim Academy is a well-respected institution in the Clayton, NC community, originally established in 2017. Cole’s deep understanding of the swim academy’s operations and potential stemmed from his two-year tenure as the Director of Operations prior to his purchase of the business.

During his time as Director of Operations, Cole spearheaded a significant expansion of the academy’s teaching and learning program by focusing on enhancing the skills and knowledge of both incoming and current teachers. Through his strategic leadership and innovative approaches, Cole was instrumental in achieving a 32% increase in the number of lessons offered to clients. This growth not only solidified H&L Swim Academy’s position within the community but also expanded its reach and impact.

Career in Public Education

Prior to his career in the aquatics industry, Cole dedicated several years to public education. He served in various roles, including math teacher, assistant principal, and principal. These experiences provided him with a strong foundation in leadership, administration, and a deep understanding of educational pedagogy. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education and a Master’s Degree in School Administration.

Athletic Achievements

Cole’s passion for swimming extends beyond his professional career. He had a distinguished athletic career achieving the status of a 4x NCHSAA swimming state champion. He continued his swimming pursuits at the collegiate level, swimming on scholarship at North Carolina State University. In recognition of his athletic accomplishments, he was inducted into his high school athletic hall of fame in 2013.
