We are excited to announce that, in conjunction with The Fred Smith Company Sports Club, H&L Swim Academy will be taking over the management of the Riverwood Rays summer swim team in 2018.
Scott Hammond and Ed Lower will be handling the administrative duties and working with the parents and coaches to run the team. This falls in line with offering members a top to bottom aquatics program at Riverwood.
The Rays will again be competing in the Tarheel Swimming Association (TSA) There will be six swim meets throughout the summer and this year the three home meets will take place at the Riverwood Athletic Club indoor pool.
The complete meet schedule will be determined later in the spring. We have hired Andrew Johnson as the new Head Coach for the Riverwood Rays. Maureen Blandford, who has been the Head Coach for 16 years, will be a consultant for us this summer, to help this transition be a smooth and efficient one. We will also be hiring an Assistant Coach.
H&L Swim Academy is excited to be involved with this program and look forward to a successful summer swimming season. We will again need parent volunteers to help organize and run this program.
More details will follow this spring and we look forward to seeing you all this summer.
