Carolina Swims Foundation announces partnership with H&L Swim Academy (of Clayton, NC), expanding their reach into Johnston County, North Carolina.

  • According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury related death for children ages 1-4.
  • For children ages 1-14, drowning is the second leading cause of death after motor vehicle crashes.
  • The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by as much as 88% in children ages 1-4.
  • The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) reports on average 15-25 children drown each year in North Carolina, with the majority of these incidents occurring in private pools, lakes and rivers.

Carolina Swims Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non profit that has been providing monthly free swim lessons to children in foster care since 2016.

We are pleased to announce that the impact of Carolina Swims Foundation has made its way to Johnston County, North Carolina adding H&L Swim Academy as a partner swim school.

H&L Swim Academy began in 2017 in the Riverwood Athletic Club’s indoor pool in Clayton, North Carolina and continues to be the premier swim school in the area, teaching thousands to learn how to swim since its founding.

H&L Swim Academy operates at the Riverwood Athletic Club indoor pool and offers private and group swim lessons 7 days a week.
